Package Integrity Testing

PTI - The Global Leader In
Package Testing Equipment...

Scientific equipment supplies

PTI offers inspection systems for package leak testing, seal integrity and container closure integrity testing (CCIT). Our technologies exclude subjectivity from package testing, and use test methods that conform to ASTM standards. PTI's inspection technologies are deterministic test methods that produce quantitative test result data. We specialize in offering the entire solution including test method development and equipment validation.

PTI are a team of engineers, scientists and professionals serving the packaging industry as a leading equipment manufacturer of package inspection equipment and an American agent for high performance packaging machinery for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

PTI’s management and R & D team focus has been on developing inspection technologies for the packaging industry that perform with a high degree of precision and reliability, and simplify testing and validation processes in the pharmaceutical, medical device, food and container industries.

PTI’s inspection technologies are non-destructive, non-subjective and provide companies with solutions to improve their quality and process control, while reducing product waste and cost. PTI President and Owner, Tony Stauffer, as well as several PTI principals have been awarded multiple U.S. patents for leak detection, seal integrity inspection technologies and system designs.

PTI’s inspection technologies are deterministic test methods that produce quantitative test result data. Our technologies conform to ASTM and other regulatory standards.

They specialize in offering our customers the entire solution including test method development and packaging inspection equipment validation. PTI installations have been successful in globally transferrable and validated test methods.

The packaging integrity testing methods/techniques available include:

  • HVLD - For sealed vials and syringes containing liquids. Depending on aplication, our E-Scan  technology can detect leaks down to <1um in size.

  • Vacuum Decay - The VeriPac systems can detect down to sub-micron defect levels depending on model and application.

  • Airborne Ultrasound - the perfect solution for online ( Seal Scan) and batch seal testing (Seal Sensor) of heat sealed pouches to detect folds, tears, delamination and other heatseal defects.

  • Force Decay - systems utilise vacuum decay as well as pressure sensors to detect force changes within the packaging system

  • Helium Leak Detection - Our Leak Detection Associates (LDS) SIMS Helium leak testing systemis used in some cases where vacuum decay is not as sensitive as desired due to headspace within the container.

  • Volumetric Imaging - Utilising 3D imaging, our UVB OptiPac can check blister packs for defects less than 5um in size.

Applications for our technologies include:

  • Vial Leak testing

  • Pouch Leak testing

  • Syringe Leak testing

  • Tyvek Leak testing

  • Pharmaceutical CCIT

  • Blister Inspection

  • Food Container testing

  • Liquids Container testing

  • Powder Container testing

Contact us to discuss your application. We also offer customised testing systems for intricate container and packaging systems.
